Good news - we're lowering energy prices

ScottishPower is reducing its standard domestic gas and electricity prices. The effect of this for a typical dual fuel customer is that prices will be decreasing by an average of 3.3% from 31st January 2014, which alongside the Government’s recently announced Universal customer rebate 1, will reduce the typical dual fuel household annual bill by £54. This is made up of:

  • 3.3% reduction in standard tariffs for dual fuel customers from 31st January – £42 per annum2
  • Universal rebate to be paid to customers in line with the government timetable - £12 per annum1

This reduction will bring the average annual bill for a dual fuel customer paying by Monthly Direct Debit down to £1,199 per annum3. This reduction will benefit 2.2 million households.

Neil Clitheroe, ScottishPower's CEO of Energy Retail and Generation, said:

"Following the Government's recent announcement on reducing the impact of green and social levies on consumer energy bills, we have moved quickly to pass these cost reductions on to customers. We are pleased that the Government has taken sensible measures to curb these rising costs."
