Questions & Answers

Q. How much are gas bills reducing by?

A. We are reducing annual gas bills by an average of 5%*.

This means, for a typical standard monthly Direct Debit gas customer their annual bill will decrease by £36**.

Q. When do the reduced gas bills come into effect?

A. The reduced bills will come into effect for affected domestic gas customers on 27th February 2012.

Q. Are bills likely to fall or rise again?

A. There are no plans at present, however in the increasingly competitive market we find ourselves in, we are constantly reviewing our prices to try and ensure that they are both competitive and cost reflective.

Q. Do I need to provide a meter reading on the date of the price decrease?

A. No, but providing meter readings at any time helps ensure your bill or statement is as accurate as possible. We will estimate your gas and/or electricity energy use on the day of the price decrease and charge the gas at the new 27th February 2012 prices. The gas used before that date will be charged at the old prices. Any changes to your unit prices will be displayed in your next bill or statement.

Q. Will my Direct Debit payments go down when the new prices come into effect?

A. Not necessarily. We review your account regularly to ensure your payments stay in line with how much energy you use. Please be assured that if your payments need to be adjusted we will notify you.

Q. When will my Prepayment meter be reset?

The new gas prices will be available from 27th February 2012.
