How does shared EV charging work?
For landlords
As you will already manage the electricity supply that will be used for the chargers, you will be responsible for paying the energy bill for tenants. You can arrange for tenants using the EV charge points to pay through monthly invoicing or by radio-frequency identification cards (RFIDs).
Our dedicated back-office customer support system[2]will enable you to offer charging to third parties. You will be able to manage access, switching the chargers between your own use and the use of third parties. These third parties could be other local businesses, community groups or local residents, or even the general public.
For shared groups
If you’re a new build contractor or community group looking to install EV charge points for a group of houses or commercial properties, we’re here to support you.
Typically, one person will be responsible for the energy supply to the chargers, while others will pay for usage through their own regular billing or RFID cards. We can support you in installing infrastructure now, or future-proofing the site for potential EV charging in the future.
