Your options when you get a price drop alert

We keep an eye on energy markets for you, and if prices drop during the last 12 months of your contract, we’ll alert you by SMS or email. When this happens, you have 3 options:

Option 1: Move to a lower price straight away

Renew for 1, 2 or 3 years and move to a lower price straight away. We’ll blend your current and new rates2, so you benefit immediately, with a new contract end date. You’ll be eligible for price alerts again in the final 12 months.

Option 2: Lock in a lower price for your next contract

Stay on your current rates but lock in a lower price for your next contract. Your new rate will start when your current contract ends, giving you price certainty for a 1, 2 or 3-year fixed term.

Option 3: Decide later

If you’d rather wait, you don’t need to do anything right away. We’ll remind you when your contract is coming to an end and let you know what pricing options are available when you’re ready to renew.

Why choose Advantage for Business?

What makes up our fixed-term tariffs?

Simply put, our fixed term tariffs (for one, two or three years) are made up of two parts:

A fixed price part: We lock in your energy cost for the duration of your contract, protecting you from any increase in wholesale prices.

A variable price part: This includes network, social and environmental costs which can move up or down throughout the contract term, based on published industry costs. We review these charges quarterly and any changes will take effect on the 1st January, April, July and October. We’ll provide an update on our website.
