Alternative ways to top up your smart meter

Add your payment barcode to your Google or Apple wallet

You can add your smart payment barcode to your Google or Apple wallet. This will allow you quick and constant access to your barcode when you want to top up in-store. To add your barcode to your wallet all you need to do is:

  1. Open the ScottishPower App
  2. Tap the ‘Prepayment Cards’ button

  3. Tap ‘Continue’ when you get to the Welcome to Prepayment Barcode screen

  4. Select your gas or electricity account, if you’re a dual fuel customer, you can add the other fuel type by repeating this process for the other account after finishing.

  5. On the screen with your prepayment barcode press ‘Add to Google Wallet’ or ’Add to Apple Wallet’

Once added you can access your barcode easily from your wallet with no need to login to our app.

Top up your smart meter with our automated phone service

You can top up your smart meter over the phone, without speaking to an agent. Simply call 0800 027 2626 and follow the voice prompts, to enter the amount you’d like to top up and your payment details. And the automatic phone service will confirm your payment and update your meter.

This service is available all day every day, allowing you to top up anytime. It takes away the need to visit a store or wait for an agent on the phone, making it more convenient. Your meter should be updated within 60 minutes of the top up.
