These bonus hours could help you run your home for less while enjoying every moment of the game.

What are Power Saver World Cup Bonus Hours?

Power Saver World Cup Bonus Hours are extra2 limited-time events available to Power Savers who have signed up for Power Saver Plus in the ScottishPower app.

For each Scotland and England group stage match, you’ll get:

  • A notification to opt in before each group stage match

  • 2 hours of half-price electricity covering the match time

  • These Bonus Hours sit on top of your regular Power Saver weekly slots2 giving you extra opportunities to save. The good news is, where your chosen Power Saver slots crossover with these Bonus Hours, you’ll get a 70% discount where your original slot was a 20% discount and a 100% discount where your original slot was a 50% discount.

How do I get involved?

  1. Be a Power Saver customer
    • In the ScottishPower app, click on Power Saver, then Event preferences and choose Power Saver Plus to sign up. Don’t have the app? Simply download it. Sign up to Power Saver.

  2. Opt in before each match
    • We’ll send you a notification to opt in before each match, so make sure your notifications are turned on. Simply accept each opt-in before each game.

  3. Enjoy your savings
    • Show your support for Scotland and England at the World Cup and enjoy half-price electricity!

How is this different from regular Power Saver?

With Power Saver, you already get:

• Up to 8 hours of cheaper electricity1 throughout the week, at times that suit you

The World Cup Bonus Hours are a series of six one-off events, which are part of Power Saver Plus2:

• Extra, time-limited events linked to specific group stage match times

• In addition to your regular hours, not a replacement2

Who can take part in the Power Saver World Cup Bonus Hours?

To be eligible, you’ll need to:

  • Be a ScottishPower electricity customer

  • Have a communicating smart meter, providing half-hourly reads

  • Have an online account

  • Be a Power Saver customer opted in to Power Saver Plus

  • Have the ScottishPower App, with notifications switched on

  • Opt in before each group stage match

Whether you’re hosting friends, cooking half-time snacks, or just settling in for the game, the World Cup Bonus Hours help you use energy smarter. It’s a simple way to enjoy the group stage matches, helping you to save on your electricity at the same time.

Electricity used will be charged at your normal unit rate, and you will later have your bill, or meter if you are a PAYG customer, credited for the energy used during bonus hours. Credit is calculated at 50% (excluding VAT) and appears as ‘Power Saver Credit’ on your bill or statement. Your daily standing charge will be charged at your normal rate. Eligibility criteria, exclusions, and T&Cs apply. For each hour there is an electricity consumption limit of 2kWh, meaning you’ll receive credit for any electricity used up to this limit. Any electricity consumption that goes over this limit will be charged at your usual agreed electricity rate.
