That’s why we’ve launched Advantage for Business, a new business energy tariff from ScottishPower designed to give small businesses more control over their energy costs, while benefiting from 100% renewable electricity as standard1.
What is Advantage for Business? Advantage for Business is ScottishPower’s new gas and electricity tariff for businesses, available with 1, 2 and 3-year contract options. Unlike many traditional business energy contracts, Advantage for Business gives customers the option to move to lower prices if wholesale energy prices fall during the final 12 months of their contract.
How Advantage for Business works
ScottishPower monitors the market on behalf of our business customers. If prices fall during the last 12 months of your contract, customers receive a price drop alert by SMS or email, helping them identify potential opportunities to save.
Why did we create Advantage for Business?
When developing the tariff, our team spoke directly with our business customers to better understand their priorities. One of the key insights was a desire for greater flexibility and more choice when managing energy contracts.
Many business owners are used to agreeing a contract price and then waiting until renewal before exploring new options. Advantage for Business was designed to provide more visibility and flexibility throughout the contract lifecycle.
What happens when you receive a price drop alert?
If a price drop alert is triggered, customers can choose from three different options.
- Move to a lower price straight away Customers can choose a new 1, 2 or 3-year contract and move to a lower price straight away. ScottishPower blends the customer’s current and new rates, allowing them to benefit from lower prices.
- Secure a lower price for your next contract Customers can remain on their current rates, while locking in a lower rate for their next contract term, providing greater certainty ahead of renewal.
- Decide later Customers can also choose to wait and review their options closer to renewal.
More than just flexibility
Advantage for Business isn’t only about price alerts. In the final 12 months of their contract, customers can also access daily quotes through their online account, providing greater transparency and flexibility when considering their next steps.
The tariff is also backed by 100% renewable electricity generated from ScottishPower’s renewable resources in the UK1, helping businesses take a step towards their sustainability goals.
