These timings are based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). However, during British Summer Time (BST), the time periods will change on selected SMETS1 meters to reflect the new time zone. BST runs from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. See last FAQ above.

Savings are based on a typical Ofgem Medium household using 2,700 kWh of home electricity a year, and an electric vehicle driven 8,000 miles annually at an average efficiency of 4 miles per kWh (equal to 2,000 kWh of charging). This compares the annual cost of 4,700 kWh total electricity use on the Standard Variable Tariff (at 1 January 2026 rates) with the cost on our EV Saver Apr 2027 v1 tariff, assuming 65% of usage happens at peak times and 35% off peak.
