How does EV Optimise billing work?

You will be charged at your normal electricity unit rate for charging your EV. The difference between your normal tariff rate and the smart charge rate of 9p per kWh will be credited back to your account. This credit will be shown as a separate line item on your bill, making it easy to see your total savings for each billing period.
The credits for your previous month smart charging sessions are applied by our billing team on the first week of every month. These credits will appear on your next generated bill.
You can get a detailed breakdown of your smart charging cost and savings anytime via the EV Optimise dashboard on the ScottishPower app:
Tap ‘Session Overview’ for cost and savings after each charge.
Tap ‘View all history’ for a monthly breakdown of your last 20 sessions.
The smart charging credit you receive from EV Optimise won’t affect your Direct Debit amount. The EV Optimise credits will accumulate in your online account balance. You may choose to change your Direct Debit amount or request a refund in your online account.
